“Philipp Schaerer creates his visualisations mostly by means of digital image montage. The focus of my work does not lie in the meticulous reproduction of photographic images. The question is rather how images which appear to be photographs are perceived and how the relation between appearance and reality, truth and arrangement can be described.”

Check out his process of this image through video timelaspse. Kudos to a guy who can brand and capitalize on a skill that practically every architect/designer is required to know. He takes the technicalities of 3d rendering and returns it back to the art of montage. This is usually the route I take when creating these sorts of images. It makes me feel like I am painting layers and layers of of descriptive information rather than just relying on the computer to output a static image.
